What I remember most from my early childhood is my mother reading to me, her voice captivating and comforting. Like many families, our home was filled with books. I would see my mother, with such warmth and passion, lose herself to the many novels we had, and I would think to myself, “That is magic.” She built her own little universe, her own mountain to escape to, and little did I know, she was also building knowledge and compassion, and reading stories to never feel alone against this, never to lose the battle with this world, and to create a fortress for me and herself.

Sitting with my mother, she reading and I indulging and soaking it all in, were not just simple bedtime stories. Those moments were my first lessons in power of stories. I learned that stories do not simply serve the purpose of entertainment; they are a creation and, a tool to understand the complex world we live in. I understood that stories express emotions, create and maintain a bond and serve a purpose with a person. That is the bedrock from which I create my own stories.

Thank you for the incredible support on my debut book! So many of you have asked, "What's next?" and the answer is: more of what you loved, but with new layers and new voices.

I'm still deeply inspired by the same things—my mother's legacy and the complex world we navigate as women—and that inspiration is leading me to new places. In my upcoming books, you can expect:
